and, finally, as per my phone call to Assemblyman John Amadeo in February after his own meeting with FEMA and DEP officials

it is my understanding that FEMA was working its way from “worst case” counties (Ocean and Monmouth) down to “less impacted” counties from March through June, and planned to meet with elected officials and their designated engineer(s) in each municipality of Atlantic County during May to review the ABFE’s (advisory base flood elevations) prior to release of preliminary FIRMs (Flood Insurance Rate Maps). The purpose of the meetings was to solicit input about the unique topography of each town such that the proposed elevations and “A” and “V” designations could be altered. Brigantine and Ocean City put out to bid for geocoastal expert engineers to do work-ups of their towns in preparation for their FEMA meetings; Margate’s engineer has been working to measure open water over bay and surveyed MSL elevations of all bulkheads; all, in preparation for their meetings.

Accordingly, please provide the following public information:

The date in May when Ventnor has its scheduled meeting. The names of the Commissioners who plan to attend.

Identification of the engineer or other geocoastal scientific expert who has been designated by Commission to perform a study of Ventnor.

A copy of the scientific study (draft or final) prepared on behalf of the City of Ventnor City for presentation to FEMA.

If Ventnor has prepared no scientific study uniquely devoted to the city’s topography which might mitigate the advisory classifications of A and V, or the advisory elevations, please advise if it intends to rely on any GENERIC study to present its case to FEMA and indicate which one:

The Rutgers / National Atmospheric & Oceanic Administration study

The Stewart Farrell / Stockton College study commissioned by Coastal Coaltion

Other, and please specify: _____________________________________________.

If Ventnor Commission does not plan to meet with FEMA at all, please so state.
